Aboriginal Corroboree – Rescheduled
We have rescheduled this event due to heavy rain so that you can get the best out of this experience. Previously 3rd July, the event will now occur on Friday 15th July at 1pm.
Join us as we mark NAIDOC week with a traditional corroboree and smoking ceremony performed by the koomurri group, as well as performances from local children and related activities designed to educate and entertain about the indigenous culture in Australia. Naidoc Week begins on Sunday 3 July 2022 and ends of Sunday 10 July 2022. Kareela Village acknowledges the Dharawal people as the Traditional Custodians of the land within Sutherland Shire. We value and celebrate Dharawal culture and language, and acknowledge Dharawal people’s continuing connection to the land, the sea and community. We pay respect to the Elders and their families, past, present and emerging, and through them, to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
